  Properly brilliant crime thriller. Can’t believe this is Micheal Mann’s debut. You can see so many of his later films in this. 

  James Cann’s character is a bit of a dickhead, but you root for him because in the end all he wants is a family and a peaceful life.

  Other highlights:

  - The music 
  - When Cann says ‘heat’
  - The diner scene were he tells her about prison 
  - The giant sparkler he uses to break into the vault
