‘The Surfer’ takes us on a mind-numbing adventure and only Nick Cage can deliver this masterpiece of a performance as a man who is gaslit, manipulated, and has to navigate the blurred lines btweeen reality and the surreal. It’s cooky, weird and entertaining. And did the casting director intentionally cast Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac’s doppelgängers?

Just saw the movie ‘Slanted’ directed by Amy Wang and boy was this movie powerful. And eye opening account and the obsession of Eurocentric standards of beauty. There’s bits of ‘The Substance’ as we do get some body horror in this. But there’s a deeper story about race and and identity. This is definitely one of my favorite movies out of the fest so far.

Delightful, magical and a film I needed to escape to during just the right time. Loved the music, the elaborate production design, the costumes and the performances will resonate with you.

Kieran Culkin is by far one of the most talented and entertaining actors of our time right now. He shines in this film. While I wasn’t a fan of Jesse Eisenberg’s feature directorial debut, he made up for it in this incredibly nuanced portrayal of about family, loss, and understanding how to tackle grief in such a compelling way. My favorite of Sundance so far.
