So sleek and seductive. I’m sure this one won’t be talked about nearly enough come the end of the year, but what can ya do. One small gripe though: not sure if it was just my screen but some scenes seemed quite overexposed!

Mickey 17 2025
If Parasite earned much of its esteem due to the way in which it expertly explores its themes covertly, then Mickey 17 might as well be the exact opposite of that. I usually am not the biggest fan of anything overtly satirical, but I think I appreciate it more in the context of being Bong’s first film since Parasite. I’m sure the studios were quite apprehensive when they first heard his ideas.
There were some genuinely entertaining bits amidst others that fell quite flat, though enough personality throughout that kept me satisfied along the way. Excited to see what Bong will come up with next!

Letterboxd Season Challenge 10 - Week 3
Another fine addition to the wholesome-core list. Turns what some might consider the daily monotonous into a celebration of the mundane and those that constitute its environment.
I understood the continued use of black and white as a creative reflection of the yin and yang of their personalities: realism v. idealism, inaction v. action, etc. There were so many more motifs that are certainly not discovered within only one viewing.
Special shoutout to Paterson's circadian rhythm too. I'd love to wake up at the same time daily without that ghastly alarm trill.

Letterboxd Season Challenge 10 - Week 2
Bleak as hell. I need Paterson to come sooner than next week so that this challenge doesn’t totally harsh my vibe. You’ve gotta respect the commitment to totally dissatisfying your audience though…like that ending is crazy
