Conclave 2024
The most fun I’ve had watching men talk since Foucault and Chomsky took the stage to debate the significance of external political forces on subjugated human nature—but then again, who doesn’t love a rerun?
Conclave is, by all synopsical accounts, boring, and barring one delightful twist, the film is not particularly interested in upsetting expectations.
But whether you come to Berger’s film a liberated Catholic or a recovering thespian petrified at the thought of yet another living-room-drama-turned-flyover-flick, his pope opera…Translated from by -
Flow 2024
This more-than-human gamification of Kundalini yoga is sure to lower your blood pressure, but if you’re looking to ride the wave, leave logic at the shore. You’ll find no coherence in the wake.
Instead, accept what you cannot understand and, for a brief moment, bask in the omnipresent glow of an off-screen sun. Take a deep breath—in for three, out for six—and gently wade into the mysterious water that Zilbalodis (and his many, many render farms) fill with charismatic micro-dramas.
Look around and you might just find yourself cruising down the most existential Lazy River hand-in-hand with a homemaker, an archivist, a knight, and a fool.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer 2017
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A film that feels like it’s slipping out of your hands until the very last beat. Highlights were: a 25 year-old Barry Keoghan embodying a 16 year-old fuck boi on the spectrum. Colin Farrel staring into a 12 year-old actor’s face and graphically describing how he jacked off his own father so he could compared their sperm count. Nicole Kidman giving what I can only describe as Big-Little-Lies-my-husband-is-abusing-me-and-my-children-eyes while watching a teenager eat a plate of spaghetti. The Murphy’s horrendously furnish basement-kink pen, And Raffey Cassidy’s manic, wheelchair ridden delivery of the line, “Dad! Quick! Bobs dying!”
