  What a toxic power struggle of a relationship, but hey if it works for them I say have at it. I don’t think there’s many better than PTA when it comes to creating fucked up characters so empathetically. The guy just wants to explore all the complexities of human connection, the good and the bad. Some of his best photographed work to date and another all timer Jonny Greenwood score.

  Definitely had some funny moments and Pattinson is great. All time guy for playing a freaky little guy. Gotta say I don’t like Bong’s English releases nearly as much as the Korean ones. You can always expect some commentary but they’re in very different modes, the english stuff feels more broad stroke and a lot goofier. Much of the satire here ends up being pretty basic. Kinda lost me with the critters and the ending too.

  Incredibly prophetic for something that came out in 2006. The detailed world building and cinematic documentary-style this is shot in makes it feel all too real. The idea that you can have hope for a better future in such a hopeless dystopia is a powerful one. A real heavy hitter.
