Those contrast and high-pitched colours are very unsettling - even if it is a simple contradiction, it works well. State of decay among the family members is overwhelming, the character of a mother is truly horrifying.
It has its downsides, slow pace of the plot, some awkward acting, but it builds a tense atmosphere in its core. A touching story of leaving your true self for a fabricated expectations of somebody else.
Hell of a ride.
Much to talk about Eisenberg’s & Garfield’s performance, but the dialogues and the whole script from Aaron Sorkin is incredible. Sound editing is glorious.

Ugh… it was boring. None of the characters - besides Denzel Washington - caught me in their story. Paul Mescal looked like he didn’t now what he is doing, Pedro Pascal’s Acacius tried to be something in all of his goofiness.
I can’t stand the editing, the CGI was awful (the rhino was pretty good, but those rabies boosted baboons??), shots switched from stable to shaking, without any reason. I sighed when Scott was going back & back to Lucius’s vision of the river. Starts too quickly and ends out of nowhere.
Do not drain movie industry with unnecessary sequels, I beg 😫
