Apart from the bad and completely unnecessary, ridiculous effects and the ugly overall look (going digital has really ruined blockbuster movies), and the dull performance of the lead actor, this is really not much worse than its predecessor, and (mainly thanks to Denzel Washington and his storyline) quite entertaining at times.

Like almost all good Clooney movies, this is a "They don't make movies like this anymore" movie. If it were produced at all today, it would be a boring and above all ugly six-episode miniseries.
