i just kept thinking the whole time “this has to have been written by a man.” and once the credits rolled, i knew i was right. there’s nothing wrong with something being written by a man except when it’s obvious & intrusive (& even then it’s fine if it’s done well), when the screenplay doesn’t say anything transcendent but only relays a drab, stereotypical male fantasy. it was a total client sub fantasy come to life—not in a good way.
