The Brutalist 2024
Really enjoyed the first part of this! Coming back after intermission, the narrative started to feel kind of strange— the whole zionist angle was a bit jarring, and that ending seemed like a big reveal but I thought it was p implicit in the storytelling and Adrien Brody’s *incredible* acting.

I’m a huge Dracula nerd, and to date have never seen a version that actually makes him seem genuinely as scary as 11-year-old me imagined reading the book: the ancient and hungry shadow that looms over everything— whose very existence is a curse.
Sometimes it was slightly overindulgent and could be a bit exhausting, but I appreciate how committed the film and its actors were to submerging the audience in total darkness and dread.Translated from by

Love when Scorsese takes on stories that he has a deep respect for and responsibility to tell. Man was on Silence mode— exceptionally ruminative, understated, and powerful movie.
