Not an action movie, but an unsettling story about a troubled man who is desperately looking for peace, solitude and a way to shed his loneliness. The modernizing world has him falling deeper into helplessness and hopelessness. This movie makes one feel a sense of pity and possibly even kinship for this man. Rather disturbing to have ‘there but for the grace of God go I’ moments while watching this film. Just a man out of his element or an evil killer? Regardless, what a waste of intellect and talent. Could there possibly be a bit of Ted Kaczinsky in each and every one of us?

An excellent drama based on the inherent greed in society. Although not a true story, per se, this directly relates to the subprime mortgage investing packages that almost destroyed the American economy in 2008 - with significant global impacts.
This movie is surprisingly fast paced and engaging for what essentially is an office space docu-drama. Dark and suspenseful with a top tier cast. New York City spirit, small guy manipulation and youthful exuberance are also prime characters in this movie.…

A highly unbelievable story line that is very sophomoric in its delivery. Frankly, I’m sure this movie is aimed at 14 year old boys. Still, I got sucked in on a Monday afternoon. This movie requires you to suspend all disbelief and asks you to put your mind in neutral. Gerard Butler actually plays a decent action hero and for a slow Monday afternoon, this mindless action flick does exactly what it’s supposed to do. A good time waster.

Re-watched this film on a plane recently. Great re-telling of this true story and entertaining. Glad that it does not over burden us in self righteousness but ultimately puts a stamp on the true horror of the American Civil War. It may not completely underscore the complete depth of anti-black racism of those days but it brings it forward in an elegant manner with a story line and visuals that are soulful and engaging.
