Bong Joon Ho has a strange and beautiful brain. I can’t get enough, I could watch it 17 more times.
I love this genre of oddball, in your face sci-fi. It reminds me of my favorite parts of old Star Trek.
Out of my cousins I’d say I’m definitely more of the Jessie Eisenberg. Actually if this trip was with my cousins you might need to recast Kieran Culken as Micheal Cera. Two socially anxious dudes in Eastern Europe could’ve been a decent movie too.
So well done and so full of life. Through Basel and his community we see put to film the slow and painstaking process of erasing a people from their home.
I loved the interrogation of the role of an activist from outside the displaced community. What are his stakes in their fight if he can just go home away from the violence at the end of the day?
There are some amazing scenes of the families all together, finding moments of joy despite it all.
Find a way to watch it, an important and inspiring movie with a lot of heart.
