I watched this already ridiculously tired. Straddled between the living and the asleep, dreams feel real and reality is dreamlike. This incredible-yellowly-color-graded film is already so dreamlike, and so the total experience enveloped what little consciousness remained and took me for a spin in the washing machine.

There's a lot to like about this movie (music, costumes, many of the shots). But it feels like there are a number of perplexing writing choices as well. Many questions are left unanswered, or relationship dynamics are hinted at and never addressed.
I also think it could have used some sort of B-plot. As it is, it feels like there's not that much of an arc — just they try to reach their objective and then eventually they do.
Calla primed me to be critical of this movie, but I did enjoy it.
