Phenomenal performances all around and remarkable editing that gives this origin story a documentary feel. Overall, the movie impressed— in particular given how bad it could have been. The film’s focus on Trump’s early years is to its advantage in telling a story of how those around us shape who we become, but ultimately the movie doesn’t drive into Trump’s psyche with depth or with novel conclusions.
