  Would have been 3.5 without all the political cameos, which probably weren't meant to be cameos but felt like it. Only valuable one was LBJ.

  Pretty good character study between generations.

  - A horror movie that isn't scary
  - A movie about patriarchy that barely displays/explores internalized misogyny because it's trying to be a horror movie, and whose thematic big reveal feels like it's a last minute tack-on to fix the movie.
  - A movie about the difficulty in starting a business/consumerism (that I think it actually did a job in doing) that is trying to be a horror movie, leading to it being relatively boring

  Watched because The Departed was based on it. Perhaps this is not the most fair criteria, but I found myself comparing this film to The Departed.

  The editing really got to me, and I found the pacing/presentation of The Departed to be much more compelling. Extra .5 star for being the original.
