Watching all the Best Picture films: 10/10
Well another great film. Going into it I briefly read what the movie was about but heard nothing but great things about Fernanda Torres. Watching the film, I can see why.
Her performance throughout the film and what she went through really gave us an insight on the military dictatorship in Brazil. The story kept me engaged from the start.
It will be interesting to see what the Oscars decide but Torres should be recognized.
Watching all the Best Picture films: 9/10
This is my third time watching this but I wanted to see it in the theaters one more time. And even after the third viewing of this film I’m still blown away. Cynthia’s performance gives me chills every time. Ariana was made for her role.
Everything about this film to me makes me wish it could win all of the awards. I know it won’t but it can’t be ignored for how great they put this together.
And now I will patiently wait for Part 2….
Maybe I needed to be hallucinating to watch this film. There were some trippy parts to it. Couldn’t tell you exactly what the plot was though. Also, I think this was around the time when directors played with the black and white style. Nonetheless, it’s finally crossed off my list.
