    I feel as though comedy has changed a little in the last 80 years. It is still a very interesting film, if only to look into that time, but I fear it did not resonate with particularly deeply.

    Everything that comes out of James Spader's mouth is great, some of the best monologues both in writing and delivery, everything else is really dull. Characters are unmotivating, the main conflict is not interestingly explored, and far too much is supposed to matter in not much time. On top of that, both Wanda and Pietro are massively misused in this film, just overall a massive failure of what could have been a great film. Still, Spader almost singlehandedly pulls this film up to it's score, everyone else is weighing him down.
