  Liked how it just unfolds, very linklater-y, very entertaining. Works because the caricatures these actors play of the real original cast are just spot on. Don’t know that it will be very memorable or rewatchable but 4/5

  Rewatched and remains an all-time favorite. It is rare that a movie can send opposite (each equally compelling) messages depending on how you interpret. On one hand, chasing greatness is critical to progress, and only intense pressure makes diamonds. On the other, everything (drumming) is arbitrary and inconsequential to what truly matters.

  Obviously I liked this as huge a fan of most of what this had to offer (least of all basketball, to be honest).

  Pros: some of the best and most natural repartee between a cast I’ve ever seen. A fairly interesting and true story about a corporate negotiation to land what becomes the most lucrative shoe deal of all time (and paves the way for the current state of NIL deals for non-pro US athletes). Viola Davis as MJ’s mom.…
