Pacino with Mann is a dream. There’s a flourish every time you go back and watch you maybe didn’t notice before.
A light watch before bed. One of the most interesting & insane “the dog’s off the leash” movies of its decade along with Man Bites Dog.

Had a much different reaction to this than expected going into it. The two part structure has an unforeseen tonal/approach shift both in story and photography, almost to the point each part can stand alone. Moved by the first part and challenged by the second. Terms like “monumental” and “epic” are oft-hurled at this film, and while that may be true, there’s a very interior distinction here that I have not felt in some (most?) true,…
