Just cos you can do it, doesn't mean you should. Amazing tech specs can't save a dialogue heavy script.
Look I like Nolan's films usually but this had the energy of a student film trying too hard to get into Revelation. Prometheus quote? Colour change to symbolise other character perspectives? Every pretentious student film I've watched in my time has random black and white scenes or mythology quotes. Sometimes both.

The film I've been excited for since it was announced mannnn I had a ball. I don't know why I cried when they entered Barbieland for the first time but the entire damn thing was so beautifully created.
Also *spoiler* the bit where Ken tries to mansplain The Godfather to Barbie??? That moment right there was for the girlies who were belittled and pushed around by their condescending and sexist male peers in film school who think they're gonna be the next Scorsese/Tarantino/Coppola.
