  I admire Nolan’s intention to make a complicated movie about a complicated man and a complicated subject, but wow did this not work for me. So many of the stylistic choices - especially the editing and score - seemed designed not just to interrupt narrative, momentum and emotion, but to outright cause anxiety and indifference. I love the care and craft that went into this but it’s hard to take away much from a film that so strongly makes me disengage from it.

  I enjoyed this movie while also thinking they should have ended the series with Last Crusade, while also being glad that it’s better than Crystal Skull, while also being fascinated and kind of moved that a franchise about a guy who’s an action hero who happens to have a traumatic personal life has evolved into a franchise about a guy with a traumatic personal life who also used to be an action hero. 
  Also, Phoebe Waller-Bridge steals this movie so hard that she might as well be a French archaeologist.
