It's easy to eschew an act until you are confronted with the full breadth of its circumstances and emotional weight. It's easy to claim one would "rather die than make God ashamed." The Angel is a film that haunts you long after you've seen it. Incredible depiction of women asserting their agency despite oppressive circumstances they are entrenched in.

Love the variety of opinion shown and examining religious women as non-monolithic in their thoughts and feelings.

Incredible that the conclusion is not an abandonment of their faith; but a re-assertion of their ownership and active participation in it.

A twisty, seedy little thriller with a fun reveal at the end. I love the aesthetic and look of the film; it's an enjoyable watch despite its insanely weird runtime.

It's fantastic to watch a film by Mormons about Mormons that's not trying to sermonize to me; simply trying to tell a good story through the lense of an specific identity in an extremely niche cultural experience.

Very proud of my involvement with this piece and the young rag-tag students who made it alongside me. Still one of the most beloved projects of my career.
