  WATCHED IN CONCERT. SO GOOD. i remember watching ryan gosling in barbie and being super impressed by him as a comedic actor since i felt like i hadn’t seen that from him before. turns out im so wrong; he gave alotta life to seb’s character!! this movie is and will always be great but it’s a little too on the nose sometimes and that is the only reason it’s not 5 stars.

  halfway into this movie? not impressed. not so quirky that the women in this film have no narrative agency, and the early relationship between rachel macadams and domhnall gleeson’s characters was, for lack of a better term, problematic (and… just… icky). not okay. but the second half??? oh god i was bawling. the wedding? ugh. bill nighy dropping his secret to life? UGH. “want to go for a walk?” UGH. yeah i can see why this is a cult classic
