  Uncut Gems: A parable of addiction and delusion
  An opal linked with blood, exploitation and chaos, it seems to me a metaphor that a mystical power lured Howard into the incorrigible addiction and inevitable corruption. Following his downward spiralling actions, the erratic camera movement, intense synth music and overlapping dialogue had created an overwhelming sense of tension and provoked audiences anxiety to a next level. A truly amazing movie and it totally deserves more recognitions.

  I had a fun time watching the movie - great performance and visually impressive set; however, it seems to be juggling too many ideas, and I was getting kenfused at times with the mixture of irony and earnestness, especially because a lot of the ideas are quite dated, clunky, and binary.

  I didn't expect it to be a groundbreaking, revolutionary masterpiece, but I would have liked it more if it went weirder or bolder in its standpoint.

Following
