There's a strong possibility I'd have idolised Hugh's character when I was 17.
Just didn't stick the landing. Barbarian, Don't Breathe, Heretic... a whole of high concept American horror films which just end in a murky dank underground tunnel.
Ez: Very violent but good.
D: My favourite bit was the fighting
(Weirdly smug that for how cavalier I am towards ratings, they've most be traumatised by a film their mum has shown them)
Ez: A perfect film. My favourite bit was the battle when Gonzo throws starfish at an enemy and it traps them as if they were ninja stars. It was amazing.
Revisiting because it's at work this week. I'm already anticipating finishing 2025 with Nickel Boys as my favourite film of the year. It impressively manages the balance between being artistically startling and emotionally devastating.
