Probably one of my favorite films and from my favorite director. Almodóvar’s style is irresistibly enchanting, his aesthetic and directorial signature are unmatched. This film weaves a surprising, heartfelt script with outstanding performances. I loved it and enjoyed it once again.

This film didn’t have to be this heartbreaking, I loved it. Movies like this remind me why I love cinema: it’s the only medium that brings stories to life so vividly, blending multiple art forms at once. Here, the script crafts a beautiful, tender story that I’m sure makes many feel seen, the score is absolutely perfect, and the cinematography is both stunning and evocative. This is exactly the kind of story that deserves to be told—and the kind that studios should invest in. The cast was phenomenal, and I can see why Youn Yuh-jung rightfully won that Oscar; an outstanding performance.
