    An intellectual space film with a stacked cast; Danny Boyle and Alex Garland turning in their best work; visual effects that hold up 15 years later (made on a budget of only $40 million); prescient themes of sacrifice, survival, and spirituality in conflict with science; a gorgeous musical score; genre-bending horror elements; all packed into a runtime just north of 100 minutes. This is almost everything I could ever want from a film!
