    Full Moon Scimitar is one of the more easy to follow Chor Yuen films. Nice atmosphere and beautiful sets make this one a must-see. It is a Chinese variation of the ancient "Icarus flew too close to the sun" myth with a touch of The Count of Monte Cristo. Recommended!

    I'll wager that few audiences in 1947 had seen a villain as psychotic as gangster Tommy Udo, played by Richard Widmark. His villainy was ahead of its time. Nice references nearly half a century later in the "The Graveyard Rats" segment of Trilogy of Terror II (1996) and later in Dave Chappelle's "$55 Million & Getting Revenge" skit.
