A profound exploration of a teenager's life over the course of 12 years. It's a very refreshing concept that delivers a raw and surreal experience.

However, I felt the characters were left underdeveloped, and some chapters were left unresolved. The story inundates you with a flood of emotions as the protagonist grows from a dysfunctional family environment to gradually appreciating the world around him. The timeline is smoother, yes. the transitions could have been more seamless with the characters deserving a comprehensive portrayal imo.

I loved every bit of this movie, every sequence, every reference. From start to finish, it was an absolute blast. I was literally punching the air throughout, completely caught up in the energy and passion it exudes. The humor. The music. and Jack Black’s infectious love and enthusiasm. The way it celebrates rock music whilst also being a heartfelt story about self-iscovery and reflection hit me hard. I had an INSANE amount of fun watching it.

    5/5.

It beautifully depicts Trauma and the fact that it's incredibly hard for anyone to battle with, regardless of their gender. The Incessant depressive cycles stemming from past tragedies and their pernicious impact on maintaining human relationships and fulfilling personal responsibilities have been accurately personified by the director.

The Story culminates in a subtly unconventional manner, which is definitely appreciable, considering that movies belonging to this genre typically succumb to conforming to certain formulaic endings that are manufactured to entertain the viewer.

The film quite rigidly establishes the narrative of how culturally relevant acoustic folk music is to people directly or indirectly involved in political activism and how Dylan's unanticipated transition to electronic rock was met with immense dissatisfaction.

The visuals are great, and never did the thought of set pieces being discordant with the timeline cross my mind.

Although the film successfully manages to establish this narrative, it unfortunately fails to explain (or even imply) why people harbored such discontent toward…
