Not too many surprises here, what you see from the trailer is what you get. The film and its actors really shine in its morbid moments of which I wish there had been more. Probably could’ve benefitted from being even shorter than it was??

Black Bag 2025
Not quite what I expected, and in a good way. Between this and Presence, I enjoy the way Soderbergh explores the dynamics in relationships and always has something brewing beneath the superficial level of the plot. It took a movie I probably wouldn’t have otherwise liked very much and added another layer depth to it.

Moonlight 2016
Would go back and immediately watch again if it weren’t so devastating. Obviously years late to the party here, but the hype was absolutely warranted. This sucker is gonna have me ruminating around in my head for a while.
Side note- the best part of seeing it in IMAX was the old white man who walked out during that beach scene, and never returned.
