If this were funnier it could have begun for a broader audience but as is it is a heartfelt, real depiction of pregnancy, motherhood, and close female friendship. Everything Michelle Buteau’s character did and said was spot on—she was terrific. Too many sad family things—and one particular sad scene played for laughs that should not have been. John Carroll Lynch was the funniest part. I just keep wishing comedies had more jokes (re: The Fall Guy as well). It’s a well-directed and acted movie but probably not one I’ll see again.

Was on board until the reveal of the killer.
Does it bother no one else that an abused foster boy whose 6yo brother was tortured to death ended up being the killer (and not without good reason) but then was just treated like any other criminal on these stories and lost his life so they could continue on with their play? It was much too sad after Dennis told his story. Guess I’m too soft.
