Nike’s signing of Michael Jordan is a surprisingly entertaining tale. Matt Damon and Jason Bateman are especially good, as is Viola Davis who portrays Jordan’s savvy mom. This was the second time I watched the film, and it held up. For those of us who grew up with 80s music, the soundtrack is pretty awesome too.

Dark Waters 2019
Haunting and disturbing story about an attorney who takes on the DuPont company. Mark Ruffalo is literally hunched over throughout this film, increasingly so as he realizes the extent of DuPont’s deception, not only in the waters of Parksburg, West Virginia, but throughout the world in developing and promoting Teflon. Anne Hathaway plays his wife in an understated role.

Sweet film about a woman in her 30s who is diagnosed with late-stage colon cancer. Her little bit of heaven comes in her final months as her three wishes are realized. Of course one (which she didn’t realize she wanted), is falling in love. Lots of tears at the end.
