Strange Days 1995
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This is a lot. The Bigelow-Cameron working relationship hits once again. I love the worldbuilding - as dystopian (near)future sci fi goes this one feels fully realized in most aspects. Incredible cast too, everyone delivers but I really love Tom Sizemore and his wig. The writing and plot were heavy handed and a bit cheesy, especially the shoehorned romance, but that’s kind of JC’s thing so it’s a wash for me. Lenny Nero is also just such a good name for a protagonist.
I encountered several of these fried individuals at the Dead&Co sphere shows last summer so that was a nice touch.

This movie suffers from some classic Nolan-isms, like poorly written female characters and some kinda sloppy dialogue. BUT despite all of that, it’s still one of the most visually and emotionally impactful biopics I think I have ever seen, and easily one of Nolan’s best.
