Rushmore 1998
Great movie, less stylistic than other Wes Anderson films, but the devotion to characters and their relationships with each other makes this movie captivating. Every scene intentionally develops the plot(no fluff). Rushmore also maintains a fairly large cast of characters all of which receive an appropriate amount of attention.

Secondhand Lions 2003
Secondhand lions could have done a lot of things slightly better. A few set ups and payoffs weren’t perfect, and some ideas weren’t fully flushed out. However, this movie does an excellent job of displaying how kids need to feel wanted, have a purpose, and have examples and stories to live up to in order to thrive.
