Silly and overlong, but pretty tense in spots, thanks to Hugh Grant’s committed performance. He can even make the discourse around the history of a board game feel creepy and unnerving. Dune: Part Two 2024
A notch below the first one in terms of scope and story (probably couldn’t be helped, but a bit too much of this one takes place in desert landscapes, and staring at all that sand can get a bit wearying after a while). But it’s still packed with spectacular action and top-notch effects, and the climax pointedly sticks the landing of what is essentially a five-hour saga.
