This film strikes such a perfect tone. I don't know how director Sarah Gavron is able to accomplish it. Seemingly dropping her camera into the life of the title character "Rocks".

2020 has seemingly had a theme of utilizing non-actors brilliantly, and this is no exception.

It is a movie that gets emotional but never manipulative. And shout out to D'angelou Osei Kissiedu for giving the kid from Minari a run for his money as cutest and most like-able performance.

It puts a film to a human emotion of just not being good enough. It such a universal story, yet is composed around some of the most famous men in history. Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham give solid performances and the direction from Milos Foreman is on genius level.

The appeal might be for someone who hasn't been in a dive bar like this. It can seem strange and full of characters. This bar in Las Vegas is no exception.

Blurring the lines between documentary and fiction this film examines the last day of this bars life.

There was no great insights into life here, just good old fashion American despair.

This Small Axe film really drives home the importance of education for children, and how easily they can be thrown to the side and potentially lost forever.

It is uplifting, nostalgic and upsetting, with a very empathetic central character played by Kenyah Sandy.
