  Is this 1988 interpretation of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia good? Hard for me to say. My critical eyes are clouded. Do I love it? Yes. I grew up with these BBC adaptations. They are in my blood. The campiness, the low budget productions, the people in giant animal costumes. These all add to its charm.

  Is this better than the recent adaptation of the Narnia story by Andrew Adamson? A million times, yes. And I say that without irony.…

  BAMBI was never a movie that interested me as a kid. I was always much more excited by the more overt fantasy Disney classics and had less patience for the "animal" films (Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, etc).

  Watching this film now, I have a completely different perspective. I can now fully appreciate its subtlety. The courage to let the film be silent and small is yet another reason why I admire Walt Disney. With animation it's so easy…
