Came in blind & was pretty blown away by this. Feels less like a movie and more like walking through an art + history museum. A stunningly gorgeous, contemplative experience. And definitely the most ominous slow zoom in a non-horror movie I’ve ever seen

Dear Kelly 2024
The respect & genuine empathy Andrew has for the people he talks to is at the core of this. Try to get through this without shedding a tear (especially if it hits home in a *certain way*), I dare ya. Bonus points for real life project X party and Dr Pill.

Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
Absolutely devastating masterpiece made all the more horrifying upon realizing the story’s grounded in reality (and in fact, some historical details were much more grim than the movie depicted). Unbelievable performances around, and I particularly loved how the setting was repeatedly established - great soundtrack, music supervision & costume work. Some absolutely jaw dropping work between De Niro & DiCaprio, and of course from Lily Gladstone. So many great character actors too! The only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me…

Dune 2021
Finally watched the first one hearing all the acclaim for part 2. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about Dune lore & came out wanting to know more. It feels like one of those stories that has influenced so many of the epic stories I’m already familiar with - the grand geopolitical moves by a menacing emperor across planets reminds me of Star Wars; the fascist imagery against a fantasy backdrop brings to mind the Hunger Games series.
What I enjoyed…
