TLDR: spent all the budget on making it look cool and then had an LLM trained on CW shows take care of the dialogue
Things I liked:
- new take on the evil corporate androids
- new monster design is amazing
- overall this film looked incredible
Things I didn’t like:
- All the human characters felt so lifeless
- “don’t tell my brother” “sorry my cousin hates androids” “it’s because of what happened to his mom” I’m sorry is…
I love Bong Joon Ho, I love Robert Pattinson’s performance…..I did not love this movie. It was fine. I personally did not have fun watching it.
I liked that it was wacky but I just felt it was too on the nose for my taste. Also felt like there were several threads laid out painstakingly that were just never followed up on - why did he talk about that lady’s hair scent so much in the beginning? Etc. I see why people like it but not my cuppa sauce.
A movie for real yearners, eldest daughters, and bitches who love gossip (ME). I shed some tears. Obviously Alan Rickman. So good. I loved every minute of it.
