I never considered this film to have such a deep religious allegory beneath it.

The scriptural references to Jesus’s walk on Emmaus, Isaiac prophecies, the references to faith and the fear to enter the unknown….It resonates deeply with me, especially in a culture where faith dwindles and secularism dominates.

Tarkovsky makes you work for enlightenment, and many times that revelation doesn’t come until the final frame of film has spooled out.

    Masterful!

There is nothing more devastating, more beautiful than ending a film like this. The battle over. Small acts of kindness. Purpose. Love. Devotion.

    The human condition.

    Cut to black.

My final movie. Just beautiful. The perfect film. It is the greatest and biggest achievement in cinema. I love movies so much. I have to make them. I HAVE TO. I love Steven Spielberg, I love Kubrick, I love THE SAFDIES, I love Tarkovsky. I LOVE THEM ALL AND I LOVE YOU ALL. This is it. Chile for 2 years, and what a better way to end it.

I will miss you movies, but I love god.

    See you in 2 ❤️

It's important to keep an open mind when considering film reviews because one mans flop is another man's next favorite film.
I heard a lot of crap about this movie before seeing it, and I have one thing to say:
    Why?
Sure you can ramble on about the expositional dialogue (who cares about exposition when half the time you don't know what the heck is going on)
Or you can ramble about the sub-par character development, and it's over-reliance on…
