  As far as films about a confrontation with an alien from 1982 go, this is way, way better than ET

  Nah but this really is a masterclass in sound, tension and pacing.
  For all the paranoia and grimness, it's also surprisingly funny, but funny in a very real, observational kind of way.

  Just like the guy next to me said immediately afterwards, they don't make em like this anymore.
