All of the Wes Anderson cast, but none of Wes Anderson fun or charm. I've heard Jarmusch has made some great movies, but this absolutely isn't one of them. Boring, pretentious, painfully unfunny. Thinks it's a lot smarter and quirkier than it actually is. Basically the most milquetoast zombie movie you've ever seen but with a wasted cast, a shallow moral, and bad meta jokes. Don't bother wasting your time.

I legitimately started dosing off before this was over and I don't think it was because I was that tired.
I heard somewhere that this was supposed to be a Disney plus TV series but was stretched into a forced sequel. And uh, yeah, that makes sense. Everything that was fun and good about the first film is nowhere near this. I can't even really say this was bad because it has competent elements. It's just soulless and boring and that's almost worse. Even the music in this feels AI generated.

I love how sincere this movie is and how well it explores its moral. Very rarely do we seem to get meaningful big budget animated movies that really tackle interesting ideas effectively like The Wild Robot does. It's a breath of fresh air to watch something made for children that respects its audience and truly has a heart. The gorgeous animation and incredible score also help.

Look, I know I'm not the target demographic for this. Hell, I don't even know that much about the franchise. I only really played the first game back in the day. With all that said, I went in with extremely low expectations and figured this would be, at best, a silly movie that might be a good time. Unfortunately, it wasn't at all.
