So incredibly thrilling to see a truly original film. It felt like a true rebuttal of many racist imaginaires of the moment, while also foregrounding the ambivalence of the white creator’s place in Canada (and Canadian filmmaking). Also, funny!
Saw this at Cinema du Parc at a screening with the cinematographer and her (great?) grandparents. Canadian excellence!
