I've always felt ashamed that I found this movie kind of boring as a kid, despite being a mondo dino freak. But I always suspected it was because I was gonzo for dinosaurs that it left me unsatisfied.
After rewatching with my mondo dino freak kids they bitterly listed all the dinosaurs they hoped to see that were absent and, yeah, it's a bit like when your favorite band plays a bunch of deep cuts instead of their hits.
