  the worst a24 movie, by far. wasn't suspenseful at all, the characters were way too whacky for me to find them believable and in the end, it was just your run of the mill splatter movie with kid cudis dick placed strategically.

  i liked it a lot, actually. found the character of arthur to be very compelling, i liked the twists, Joaquin Phoenix once again delivered his common role: a miserable, unable to live for himself, mentally more then unwell, fatherless, disturbed little bitchboy who knows whats right and who has a good heart, bus the worst possible conditions to flourish in.
  i liked the pacing, gotham looked as filthy as ever. i didnt get the stairs symbol, but enjoyed his stairs…

  maybe it's because i'm not american and the suburban live never was an idyllic concept to me, or maybe it's because the acting skills of the main villains where mediocre at best, but apart from the premise (which was genius btw) this movie did little for me.
