Youth in Revolt 2009
Did anyone else find this film super male gazey? Maybe it’s the point or the humour but it felt like a teenage boys fantasy, especially when they go the visit the girls in boarding school and Sheenis friend is a hyper sexualised school girl. The whole character of Sheeni kind of just felt like what a teenage boy would dream up, the perfect girl who is innocent enough but also extremely sexual charged, I get this might be the point of the comedy but watching it as someone in their 20s maybe me feel slightly uncomfortable. Do love michael cera though.. he gets 2 stars.
