Brazil 1985
Jacques Tati’s 1984. Truly audacious production design. Mixes neo-noir with cyberpunk with German Expressionism with art deco with a dozen others and somehow makes it all work together. Gilliam’s slapstick nihilism still isn’t really my thing, but this is the most I’ve appreciated it.
