  dreamlike visual emptiness follows degenerate Grickle-esque jokes and vice versa. the sun as a knitting ball reminds me of the free indie game 2:22AM (which i recommend! (don't you dismiss the time specification))

  people die harder than in Die Hard, John Woo uses more pyros than went off in the 2020 beirut explosion, and the taste level of costumes and color palette transcends what was considered possible in the action genre. just look at the gangster boss's secret weapon base, all marvelously lit in red and pink. babes, who was your interior designer?

  feels like a collection of Mr. Bean sketches, but ones that are created by a lobotomized brain. there's really low coherence between sequences and the good laughs (few and far between) take a very long time to setup. Tati infamously re-edited this film multiple times, damaging the celluloid in the process. it's hard to believe he improved it much.
