Campy and occasionally very fun (particularly in the final act), but ultimately it feels about as low effort as your standard blumhouse feature-

I was feral for 75% of this movie, thank god Luca fought against his instincts to cast Timothee Chalamet in everything he ever makes.
In all seriousness this movie rocked my world and it’s all I’m gonna think about for the next like week.

An incredibly strong first act, but otherwise the pacing struggles, particularly in the third act which feels mostly like exactly what it is- further buildup to something yet to come.
Can’t deny the spectacle of it, though, certainly deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible if possible. How future sequels will be able to continue to capture the mainstream audiences remains to be seen, difficult to imagine future adaptations landing in the same way.
