Soderbergh delivers a tight, cool, romantic spy thriller, leveraging excellent performances from Fassbender and Blanchett. Koepp's script is excellent, avoiding too much explanation and opting to show vs. tell at every step - it's great to see a film that demands a little more from its audience to pull off a mature & romantic finale that is as thrilling as any shoot out in Mission Impossible. Whereas the sex in Challengers was on the Tennis Court, the tense spy battles take place through words and not bullets - all leading to a propulsive finale that feels completely earned.

Bong Joon Ho once again delivers a deliciously ambitious film that, while it does not knock every plot line out of the park, it leaves you with a ton of interesting pieces to chew on. The cast is excellent - I just wish the film spent a bit more time on the fun everyone is having. Impossible not to draw very clear parallels to today (Ruffalo may as well be Trump, and the advanced technology of human printing may as well be AI), it’s a joy to watch Bong Joon Ho bring his unique sensibilities to a great & hopeful story.

Tight 90 minute thriller with a killer premise and a great Samara Weaving performance. Easy recommend on shudder (disappointingly advertised as “the walking dead meets a quiet place”???????).

Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut shows a few glimmers of promise but ultimately fails to satisfy. Tony Hale steals every scene as the host of The Dating Game, but the sluggish pace (despite being 90 minutes) and uninspired story lacks any depth to inject into the glut of true crime stories. Pass.
