Poorly paced story that doesn't take the time to make you care about the characters. Most of it feels like fan service that's borrowing heavily from the nostalgia of the movies. Tolkien would be disappointed.
The lead is a shadow of Eowyn and the whole "wild girl who's fighting the patriarchy and dresses" is so played out and boring. Female characters deserve to have better character arcs.
This could have been decent, but the writing was so unforgivably bad.
